National Geographic published a story about strange sea blobs that can grow up to 200 km. The phenomenon is known already since 1729 but only recently italian researchers started to have a closer look on it. One of the collaborators, Serena Fonda, actually dived with the slimy mass and reported on an “alien experience” and a wetsuit destroying sticky surface. She wasn’t able to enter the mucus but nonetheless it was impossible to remove it from her wetsuit after her return to the surface.
